Here’s a simple and easy vanilla cake recipe:
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
1 ½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ cup (120ml) milk
½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil or melted butter
2 large eggs
1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour an 8-inch round or square cake pan.
2. Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
3. Combine wet ingredients: In another bowl, mix milk, oil (or melted butter), eggs, and vanilla extract.
4. Combine wet and dry: Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth. Do not overmix.
5. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
6. Cool: Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
